Hawaii Island Finals – Stand Up World Tour

The Stand Up World Tour was established in 2009 and is now enjoying its 2nd year of competition.  To culminate a very successful season, the StandUp World Tour will be having its 2010 Hawaii Island Finals in Hilo, Hawaii from December 10 – 19, 2010.  Organizers anticipate competitors from an international field including many from the islands of Hawaii. 

The goal of the Stand Up World Tour was to provide a platform for these competitors to spotlight the sport of surfing.   The Stand Up World Tour also wants to perpetuate the culture and heritage of surfing by providing other events during this week long event.   The tour has grown and the culmination of the 2010 season will bring everyone to the town of Hilo, Hawaii in December.  I expect that this event will turn into more than a competition but will also be a force in bringing the community together to welcome visitors from all over the world to see some of the most talented and courageous athletes.

The Naniloa Volcanoes Resort has been named as the official host hotel for this event.  The Naniloa Volcanoes Resort is the premier ocean front hotel in Hilo, Hawaii as it overlooks Hilo Bay; the Hamakua Coast and even glimpses of Mauna Kea.  With over 265 + hotel rooms, the hotel is ready to welcome competitors, international media representatives; and visitors from throughout the world.
