Big Island East exists to help visitors discover the wonders of the region that includes Hilo, the famous observatories in the clouds and, of course, the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Unlike many visitors guides, this web site is owned and maintained by locals. That means the tips and advice that you’ll find on these pages come from people who live and work in the area. When we promise “local knowledge,” we mean it.
